lots of help withaxe data

thanks for the leads folks its amazing what you found ,especially
since you spelt Kelley wrong! the Google link was the US version ,
very different to what we are offered in Aust. I do now have more
knowledge . we are pinning down this axe to pre 1921, which is not
bad for a $1.00 axe. haveing seen some of the prices asked i'm
inclinedto go and visit some of the old camps to see what i can find.
I presently have 6 of these axes waiting to be restored.
That old Herbert Hoover keeps cropping up . He used to stay at the
Pub where my wife was a chef in later years , and had a thing for a
barmaid there. today he would have been given a restraining order for
his antics.
He was manager at a big mine to the north of us , The SONS OF
GWALIA. there is a superb museum there and i am slowly fixing a
couple of 1 man cross cut saws for them. the steam winder there was
the biggest the southern hemisphere ever had and was still working in
1975 when the mine closed. It is in a shed assembled and ready to run
today at the museum.
I'll try the st catharine museum again in a few days.
cheers Paul
