Masts and Floor Sanders

Thanks for the feedback on mast materials. I see more woodland walks in
my future.

I did my hardwood floors recently and used a "buffer/sander" rather than
a drum sander because drum sanders tend to gouge. The buffer/sander was
a 12"x18" rectangular orbital sander that would work well on uncut
plywood panels. You can get right into corners, and can move in any
direction (unlike drums). To change paper grades, just tilt up the
machine, trade sheets on the floor, and lay it back down on the new
paper. I'll rent one when the time comes, having paper left over from
the floors. The fiberglass mesh paper is also good for making the long
sanding boards that Payson recommends.
