[bolger] Re: the best day of the winter

Clyde,
I have always owned Johnsons up to this point due to the fact that
the marina operator at the head of my harbor was a Johnson dealer. Now
that I am going with more portable boating, I have heard that the
yamahas are quite reliable and that there is a network of dealers
nationwide and abroad for support. Water pumps are a bi-annual expense
and it is relatively easy to take care of. Plugs and filters are the
other items that should be an annual expense. I am thinking that a
3.5hp yamaha longshaft will propel Micro nicely. I like an external
fuel tank as it extends range, and also makes the motor easier to store
without the extra fuel spilling around.
Good luck with your quest for a motor. Look at who will do the
servicing, then price out those models and you should be fine.

oops, hit something strange on this laptop and posted prior to
completion.

I am obviously exctatic with a good day of non-building as various
pieces are coming into place. I would like to hear from other members
of the group as to what they consider their best day of winter
boatbuilding!
