Twelve and eighteen? Give them the Sunfish! I know mine is about as much fun
as you can have on the water.

Build something else for yourself.

Judging from the design number, #262
this is a relatively early design
I guess in the late 1960's. It
features in the book _Small Boats_,
1973. [And the re-issued book, _Bolger
Boats_, I think.]

There are several used copies of
_Small Boats_ listed now on
http://www.abebooks.com/ranging in price
from $25 to $75.
I bet the windsprint would work well with the Sunfish hardware.

Just a thought.

I started to check my books and I can't find " Feaderwind "( that
means that there is a book from Mr Bolger that I haven't, what is the
name of that book?)
I did find that " Pirate Racer " and " Tortoise " use the lateen
sail , why he didn't used it in " Brick " ( he says in the book that
is a scaled up version of Tortoise ) ?
If I make "June Bug" I supose I need to keep the center of the sail
in the same place as the original sail design?

Dave Carnell uses a sunfish rig on the $200 sailboat
that was derived from a Bolger design:

Dave Carnell's "$200 Sailboat" is the Bolger Featherwind. Build that,
nice skiff, and it's been modified by Dave to use Sunfish hardware.

Hi, I have been thinking in building one of Bolger designs and this
morning I got a Sunfish ( for free ) with all the hardware ( the
daggerboard is rotten but the rest is ok , sail, boom, mast, rudder,
etc)an I already have a small trailer.
But it is still a one person sailboat: ok to learn But I can't take
my daughter(s) with me. So I still am thinking in building something
and use the sunfish hardware.
Any suggestion that I can use with this hardware? Should I make Brick
or June Bug or other?
Any Suggestion will be apreciated
