CHANGE THE SUBJECT LINE!
If you're going to comment on an offensive, irrelevant message, change
the subject line so it doesn't look like there are suddenly 10 messages
of that type!

one in the future since I keep reading this list.

Good idea!
In defense of the moderator, I'd like to offer a thought or two.
1) The "worms" that are circulating lately delve into your address book,
extract an e-mail address, and then use it as the "source" for the offending
message. I've deleted all the subject messages, so I can't check this, but
I'd guess that it seemed to come from a long time contributor, or even from
the moderator himself. Easy to let it pass.
2) Do NOT reply to any URL or e-mail address included in such messages.
Often they just tell the sender that "he's got a live one."
3) Delete quickly, without letting the whole message come it. We, the
"wet-ware," probably aren't fast enough for this to be effective; but, who
knows and it can't hurt.
4) Flush your "deleted" folder regularly. You didn't really want to keep
that stuff around, did you?
5) The thought in the first section implies that it wasn't even necessary
for a list member to be "infected." All that was necessary was for one of
us to be in someone else's address book.
6) The Internet, and this list, are about as safe as the city streets, the
local mall, or some of the churches. Kids need
supervision/monitoring/protection (but not too much).
Sorry for the non-boat spiel.
