Who knows!. but he did design an open steel/ or aluminium workboat called "Curragh" If I remember rightly it does look a bit like a traditional Irish Curragh.I think its featured in either "Different Boats" or "30 Odd Boats", I'm going for "Different Boats" but I could be wrong. Maybe someone could build one with the Tack and Tape method out of Plywood and fibreglass/dynel sheathing ,painted a rough textured dark brown/greeny black to simulate tanned leather which has been distressed by salt water and copius amounts of Irish whiskey and Potchine not to mention numerous gallons(Imperial,4.5L) of Guiness Stout.
Of course she could be called "Le Mouton Noir de Kingston" if so desired!!!????A real smuggler's disaster waiting to cross the border to bring real beer to the Americans who 's beer is something close to water if you'll pardon an old joke about a certain activity done in canoes.
Another design similar to "Curragh" is the "Chicago Coble"(25'1" x 6'0") featured in "The Folding Schooner".She's not too bad a design if you like long, narrow moderate power boats.40HP Max, either inboard or outboard, various layout options too.Possibly suit Tack and Tape Ply-epoxy construction. Bolger probably has more up to date designs than these that would be easier to build, perform as well, if not better and cost less!!The bonus about these designs are their looks, being slightly more traditional they may "Offend" less people with their pre-conceived notions of what a boat is!
I can't wait until his(Bolger's) next book/books come out!?.I read somewhere on the "Net" that he's currently working on 2 new books!! Is this true, does anybody know for sure?
I hope its true.
