Haven't a clue why my e-mail is bouncing mail.I'm flipping right
out of my skull on an almost daily basis as it is.As for my boat
bott...underside,I would dearly love to do it RIGHT NOW but
alas, weather has come and done its' thing and set me back a bit.Looks
like sometime in mid-September.And don't forget,I must first assemble
the side panels on that second jig before I flip the underside onto
her.The Vercheres Gang, whom I met with this weekend for a
scheduling/social meeting,is all on standby for a "panel building
bee",we figure an easy days work and a case of 12 ought to do it.
I'll snap my TIMS section together either this Friday or Saturday. Not
too sure yet how I'm going to get her there however there is no way
on earth will Pesky take her on her new cars roof and my rusty
toolbox on wheels....don't know if she is up for a road trip like
that with a TIMS on the roof......I'm gonna have to do some serious
begging/bribing to see if I can't hustle a suitable vehicle around
here.
Pesky and I will be,or at least should be, arriving on the
afternoon of the 5th but it could be early evening as she found out
yesterday that she has one or two court sessions Friday morning.
Now,I have to go and see about this e-mail bouncing business, hope I
can figure what the heck is goin' on there!

I just put up an album named Bee in this groups photo section with 5
shots of an Australian built Bee. I'd credit the builder, but I've
lost his email.
Cute, aren't they.

Glad to see Peter Lenihan back, it would be unbearable to not have
someone to tease, with thick skin and a permanent twinkle in his eye,
someone who understands the irony of a 2 litre bottle of Maudite and
an 8 ounce paper cup.
Peter, hotmail bounced a private message to you on me. When are you
coming down with your TIMS, and do you know your flipping date yet?

Mike,
"Bee and Superbee" . . . wasn't that a GBS play?
Anyway, a couple of years ago I wrote an article for Chuck
{duckworksmagazine} about building a Bee. Check the Archives.
'BEE' is Bolger Design #581 . . . 'SuperBee' is someone else's
'modification' of the original. 'Bee'. The original was designed as a
'Proof of Concept' for his idea of the 'step sharpie' hull form. {Note
the very successful Hawkeye, Micro, etc.}As designed she has a LOA of
7feet, 3inches, and a BEAM of 3feet, 11inches. Phil's WRITTEN
recommendation for a motor is, ". . . not more than 8 Hp or 60 pounds
dry weight . . . 2 Hp is more than adequate".
'SuperBee' was 'stretched' to 10 feet, with a proportional increase in
beam. The gentleman who built 'SuperBee' used a 9.9Hp Mercury on 'Bee',
and a 20Hp on the 'super'.
Two admonitions from Bolger's plans . . .
- in his last numbered building notation he talks about Positive
buoyancy and foam flotation . . the following quote was UNDERLINED -
"Without the foam, the motor WILL sink the swamped boat"
- below that is the following un-numbered comment . . ."Seven-foot
boats in general and this one in particular are not to be considered
seaworthy ! "
