Ron,
And that's another good reason for building upside down......I
guess I'll have to settle for arms like Batman or maybe
Robin......naw,not at all,more like the Penguin :-)
Dust is not much of a problem either when one builds in mother
natures great outdoor boat yard with constant(at least when Bruce is
not there) solid wind to keep the dust and all other loose things off
the sanding surface.
Nevertheless, sound advice to follow for those in less open shop
conditions!

Sincerely,
Peter "penguin arms" Lenihan
Rick,
You forgot to add that 'longboarding' will give you shoulders like
Swartznegger and forearms like 'Popeye'. {at least if you have to lay
UNDER the boat to do it !!}

Should be a little easier if you can stand up and do it like
hand-planning.

Either way, wear a decent mask, goggles, and have a good fan at your
back {blowing the dust AWAY from you}.

Regards & Good Luck,
Ron Magen

Add filler with a wide blade to raise the low spots. A longboard with
course paper to level it all out.
