told the cabins did not have bedding, towels, etc. I told them we where
flying in to the messabout so they wouldn't work and thanked them for their
time. A few minutes later Neil called me back with 3 different hotels near
by with phone numbers.
It doesn't get any more friendlier and accommodating than that! I look
forward to thanking him in person.

Bruce,
I'm sure many Bolgeradoes have reservations about partying with you and
Lenihan, but are coming anyway..

Being after Labour Day, maybe not. But on the other hand a
reservation guarantess aplace to sleep.
Darn it all, I'm a rustproofer, not a hoteleilleur. Make a res, or
take you chances, no? (gallic shrug)
<wink>
Neil, owner of Rideau Acres Campground tells me that only 1
Messabouter has made reservations at the site. I know Peter Lenihan
has made reservations about the ex Coast Guard Icebreaker "Alexander
Henry".
I'll be sleeping aboard Adagio at the dock. Where I'm hoping for far
into the inky blackness boating bull (or mouton) sessions with you
all.

Keep in mind that the fees are to enter and use the Rideau Acres
Campground, NONE of it is for me in any way. It's the same as a
messabout at a state or provincial park. Ya' gotta' pay what the park
wants to get in, but the Messabout is free!
Campsite Fees per day:
Full Service Site 31.50
Electric and Water 28.50
Tent Site 23.60
Discount for Mesabout weekend fee 25%
Dock fee $ 16.00
Day entrance fee $ 3.00 $ 1.00 to charity
All prices are in ittsy, bittsy Canadian dollarettes, so with the 25%
discount and the excxhange rate, why heck it's almost FREE for my
southern neighbors.
Here's the charges for the Messabout events:
Messabout fee: Free
Friday Eve Wine & Chees: Free (but feel free to contribute as your
budget and consience permit)
Saturday night Pot Luck Dinner: Free (but bring a dish)
Sunday Cowboy Breakfast: Free bowl of Bruce's Sugarless and not
TOOOOO spicy Cowboy Beans (bring a bowl, spoon and your own coffee)
Tour of Pumphouse Steam Museum: Free, sponsored by Rust Check Kingston
A ride in TIMS: Free (bring your own life jacket)
All in all a pretty good deal,
Bruuce Hector
Worrying if I can supply enough wine to satisfy the great connaiseur
of cheap plonk from the south shores of Montreal. I've only made 50
litres (12.5 US gallons). How much wine can a French Candian Irishman
drink in 4 hours anyway?
And wondering if Peter Lenihan will be showing us a new use
for "mouton" at the Saturday nite pot luck dinner. Perhaps "Mouton en
Croute" or "a La Pariesenne" or my favorite "Mouton Provencal".
Yummmmmmm!
