Re: [bolger] foam fill the mast - unsinkable
I just filled the ends of my mast for the Trilars. It's a 2" sched. 40
which makes it about just over 2 1/4" wide. I have the two part foam from
RAKA so I stuffed a big wad of news paper down each end about 2 feet down,
then mixed and poured in the foam, then quickly taped over the ends. As the
foam expanded, it would force the tape to bulge but at the same time, the
tape guaranteed that the foam fully expanded the diameter of the pipe.
The numbers don't really add up that the pipe will float based on it's
weight and the volume it displaces but it does stop rodents, wasp, and bees
from building a home.
