Got to that today.
They say wait 10 days, then use an _oil_ primer. After that, latex okay.

Any other ideas for a water based plywood sealer that dries fast for
immediate use and can be latex painted later?

I guess I've been lucky these last 5 years since painting a not very well sheltered boat
over the regular Thompson's with latex porch paint. It hasn't peeled off yet.

The instructions on the can said wait 45 days for latex, which wasn't a hardship for me,
since I'm such a slow builder anyway. But I think they disavow latex now.

The jugs of water based "Advanced" make no mention of paint at all, so I've been meaning
to give them a call.

I wouldn't you can never paint it if you do use it. Nothing sticks to
wood that's been sealed with Thompson's. You can't paint or stain
over it. It will cover over the thompsons just fine but peels after
about 2 to 3 weeks. Learned that the hard way.
On the inside of the one sheet skiff i built out of luaun i was
wondering if Thompsons would hold up reasonably well for protection
from water penetration of the luaun? I have a coupla gallons leftover
from home projects and would like to use them up if they will do the
job...if not, i will save them for the 'honey do' list...and use
latex paint

Thanks in advance for your thoughts
