Ah, Meadowlark is a great boat (though Bolger, or someone, complains
that LFH managed to make a simple sharpie difficult to build).
There's an article on a UK Meadowlark in the latest Classic Boat.

Send me pix of your completed junk rig and I'll add them to the
examples I have online in the Junk Rig Tutorial.

I am generally a lurker on this site because I have
plans to build a bolger boat in the future, but at the
present, I have my father's 40 year old "Meadowlark" a
36 foot sharpie designed by L. Francis Herreshoff. It
was originally designed with 18" of draft, but my
father put a 10 hp Sabb engine in it and deepened the
draft aft to just over 2'. It was just slight rocker
in the bottom (2" thick planks) and carries about
5,000# of lead on the shallow keel. Although it has
just an 8' beam it is an exceptionally easy sea boat.
I've sailed on much larger vessels (up to the USCG
Eagle) and the "Meadowlark" is one of the best. Other
owners have weathered very severe storms in their 33'
and 36' versions of this design. Since Bolger boats
are very similar to these designs, I would guess that
they are equally seaworthy, especially if they are
built solidly and handled competently. The
"Meadowlark" was rigged as a ketch (and has leeboards)
but it is currently without a rig, with the plan to
put a single junk sail to make it into a delta sampan.
