Further idea re Haz Mat:
make sure you can open the hood really fast in case someone trips over
the cord. Or especially if some prankster switches the hose over to the
suction side!

Hmm... You could use your shop vac on suction and then run a second hose
to fresh air. The fresh air hose could exit right in front of your
face. But now you have two hoses and maybe someone will decide to hold
their cigar in front of the intake... But this will keep the wrinkles of
the oversize suit pulled in.
