Re: Brick weights
Lincoln,
You caught me.
I did provide the rosy scenario. Wanting to be sure the boat would be any easy cartopper,
most all was weighed before it went together.
For the stripped hull:
Pine Ply 51.25
Cedar framing 15
But then decided on the optional 1 1/2" skids, thinking they might both protect the
unsheathed bottom and help the leeway. Adding 5.25 pounds makes 71.5 pounds total right there.
Then too, I never weighed the 16 liquid ounces of T-88 epoxy glue or the little bit of 2"
tape at the chines. That comes to something. I can't speculate on what dried paint weighs.
The 1/4" luan in my Mouse weighs 18 pounds/ sheet; times 2.25 for a Brick bare hull equals
40; then half as much again to go up to 3/8ths would come to only 60 pounds for most of
it. So you might be right. But all the MDO I've seen is fir. Made with that, the 3/8ths
version would have a little more than 75 pounds in ply.
