Re: AS-29 plans
Depending on whether I sell mine, I will be doing some of the upgrades.

As I understand, they added steel
armor plate to the bottom, a 'doghouse'
for standing room above the toilet,
and a curved fairing at the splash zone
on the bottom of the bow.
Is that right, was there more?
AS-29 is kind of like a Superbrick,
only seaworthy <grin>.

PB&F issued for AS-29 a few years
back? I missed that issue of MAIB.
As I understand, they added steel
armor plate to the bottom, a 'doghouse'
for standing room above the toilet,
and a curved fairing at the splash zone
on the bottom of the bow.
Is that right, was there more?
AS-29 is kind of like a Superbrick,
only seaworthy <grin>.

I really appreciate this boat as well. I think it might not be too
far off in the future. I can see this boat living well in a slip on
Cape Cod and going for overnights to the islands (including
Monomoy!). With the shoal draft, it would be something to just step
off the bow and onto the beach. Kind of like a WWII LST.

Perhaps those around here can appreciate this,
but I just bought a set of 'prototype' AS-29
plans on EBay, [without the building key].
I have been fascinated with this boat for
years, ever since reading about it in the
book BWAOM. Not that I have immediate intention
to build it, other than in my mind.
