RE: [bolger] "Houston,LESTAT has landed"!

Not off topic at all, as far as I'm concerned. Who wouldn't want to build a
mighty Bolger Micro after reading this. You know, of course, Peter, that
you could build another one some day. --FrankB

Bolgerados,
After mentioning some time ago the departure of my
MICRO"Lestat" to a new home, but not wishing to publicly announce the
new owners name, out of respect for his privacy,I just noticed his
recent posting over on BOLGER 3.
After what sounds like a really neat road trip or perhaps we
should call it a journey,Nels also has posted some really wonderful
and neat pictures!
I must confess that it seems odd to be looking at pictures
of a boat on the Internet that looks rather "cool" and to find
oneself thinking thoughts like,"oh boy! I wish I had a boat like
that!" only to realize that JEESUZ! I had a boat like that!
Equally spooky is to be looking at a"strangers" pictures of
something you built and know so imtimately right down to each and
every turn of the screws used to assemble her,the smell of the
freshly sanded mahogany used, each brush stroke of paint
applied.Indeed, that whole wonderful metamorphosis of a pile of lumber
and supplies into one simple integrated whole. To see this whole
object now through strangely different eyes almost overwhelms my
spirit. In some dark corner of my soul,a tiny voice wants to scream
out,"Come back LESTAT!"
Lately,I have even found myself mourning the many adventures
Lestat and I will miss out on........no more sunny days goofing-off
somewhere out on the St.Lawrence,no more the familiar swoosh-bump-
bump of another happy landing on familiar beaches nor the restless
tugging on her mooring lines each time I would come down to her
quay.No more too the many times she demonstrated how safe she was
with her shoulders broad apart as we weathered another storm on the
mighty St.Lawrence.But missed most of all will be the secret language
we shared each night before I would fall asleep on board as she would
tell me about how she enjoyed her day and what we should do tomorrow.
Strangest of all however,is how very different
this"seperation" is when I compare it to when I sold my Elver
WIDSITH.There was never any"pining for the fiords" or much "knashing
of the teeth" when she,who became known by the unflattering name
of"La Salop",was sold off.Hmmmmm......maybe I went over the deep end
long ago and never even felt it? :-)

At any rate, I apologize if some of this is somewhat off-
topic and will leave you to check out the new owners posting and to
check out his pictures over on BOLGER 3,while I continue to work
through the"mourning process".

Sincerely,

Peter Lenihan,ex.owner/builder of the MICRO"LESTAT",aka "the
cutest, littlest and prettiest pocket yacht around","QUEEN of the
Fleet" etc,etc,etc.........:-)

Peter, that was positively eloquent. Now, back to work! so we can hear
similar lyrical expressions about your new creation.

That has to be the finest
workmanship on a Micro ever
achieved.

I wish I new how to get
the Yahoo photos at the
full size, not just the
screen size. For some
reason I don't understand
the pictures claim to have
'full size' resolutions of
150K but the max I can
access are the 'screen size'
resolutions of 20K.
