Re: sail boat

A friend sailed his a lot, and I think raced it, so I tend to believe
him when he says it was fast.

I have my doubts that it would be faster than the Chebacco or even
the open version of Catfish. It is an intriguing design, though, in
some ways.

I saw some pictures of one built with lapped topsides.

Oh, and we should mention Lynx. So many catboats, so little time.

Key words, 'one of'

In the latest results of the
favorite Bolger boats poll,
the Micro is not edging in front
of the Chebacco...<grin>

What size would you like? From small to large there is...

1) Queen Mab - about 7 feet, if I recall.
2) Tinycat, aka Bobcat - Plywood copy of the Beetle Cat. 12'
3) Catfish - Origial beachcruiser version, or conventional catboat
style, about 15'.
4) Harbinger - round bottom, NJ style catboat
5) Chebacco cat yawl - several versions - one of PCB's most popular
designs, 19'8"
6) There are at least two PCB designs for large, convertional Cape
Cod cats that are not among is well known designs. One is ply, one is
round bottomed.
7) Leeboard Catboat - 22' cruising cat.

In addition to these boats which are of more or less conventional
catboat style, there are several boats with cat rigs but other
styles, for example 29' Newfoundlander, or the GrandPa's Pirate Ship,
or Bright Thread. To say nothing of ones I've not recalled responding
off-the-cuff.
