I use a cheap iron or steel dumbbell from Kmart for my dinghy - about $4.00

Not sure if any homemade anchor, without welding, could be made lighter
and less bulky than the mushroom anchors, and still work...
There is a production anchor I saw at Boaters World, four claws that
fold up, this might work for him...
Since he needs it for a brick, maybe he should use a brick? <grin>

Are there any home-made anchors out there (without any welding)?
Looking for something to hold a brick while fishing / reading newspaper.
I know Wal-Mart has mushroom anchors for about $15, but they are kinda
heavy and bulky. Before I bought one of those wanted to see if there
was one I could make.

trout. All the rental boats have concrete poured a bucket with a loop
of chain entombed in it. They work fine on a lake.
I our business, we refer to two-year-old computers as boat anchors,
