Well, you didn't say not to, so you could cut it out and just leave an
outline, then cover with aircraft Dacron a la Platt Monfort. Makes a
very comfortable, light seat that doesn't run away on you, but somehow I
don't think that's what you meant.

Sit on a Type IV? That's worked for us in the Gull and the Mice,
and it has the added benefit of keeping extra safety gear close
to hand. I also have some cushions scavenged from some dead lawn
furniture that I mean to try in _Shrike_'s cockpit once I get her
in the water.
