Re: visiting Gloucester in HMS Rose
I don't think we'd have to worry about organized resistance in
Gloucester if visiting in HMS Rose, particularly with its association
with Bolger, who is allegedly held in high esteem there. It wouldn't
hurt if Rose's crew spent heavily in all the local bars, either, though
I suppose there might be disorganised resistance in the form of barfights.
I'm sure it wasn't easy for Bolger to make the thing comply with all the
modern regulations. Kind of funny that it has to, since to me it's
pretty obvious that the real danger is falling off all that rigging. But
maybe just because it's obvious doesn't mean it's true.
BTW, is anyone itching to organize the Gloucester messabout?

Well, Lincoln, I think the matter of the esteem in which Bolger is held by
the local populace should be measured AFTER the Bolgeradoes have either
sailed over the horizon or been subdued ("Attendees At Local Bolger Festival
Driven Off By National Guard Units").....
