Re: [bolger] Re: ...of my own private Idaho
thanks for your thoughts and consideration for those in dependent wheeled
vehicles. my youngest brother-in-law was a victim of a drink driver. he was
a quadriplegic for 18 years. he would have loved this type of thing. he has
past on now but endless a person has cared for people in this condition
around the clock, most have no idea what it is like for their needs, care and
toll on all the family, at least those that help with the care. their need
for entertainment, enjoyment or just transport takes on a whole new light.
thanks again for those who will benefit from your ideas. robby

A big THANK YOU to Bruce Hallman -
As I guess everyone knows by now I've been trying to put together all the information I can get hold of in anticipation of my wife & I building our own 23' "Champlain" (I've twice increased the size of my notebook). Trying to figure costs is always a challange but a very important one when your retired. Thanks Bruce for approximating the costs of the 31" Idaho.

oil painted the starboard side, looks good!
This weekend I will get only a few hours, family
commitments...I will be taking one spare 'vacation'
day from work for boatbuilding this coming monday.
Anyone have a Dakota? Pics?

For me, the best value is epoxy from the
USA company www.raka.com. Though, other
glues would work, I am sure.
Personally, I would also use the 'MDO'
plywood that sign painters use here in USA
called Medium Density Overlay. That way I
would avoid the use of epoxy and cloth all
over the boat. Which, if used would add
another $750 and 150 hours [my wild guess].

Bruce,
Thanks for the Idaho scan. You don't happen to have a Tennessee scan
to add to it do you? Interesting to compare/contrast.

Hello Bruce: what kind of glue is it?
"Glue 1 LS Raka? 250 250"
Is some kind of epoxy or polyester resin or just glue? Thanks,
regards, Máximo.
