Re: which site to buy from?
I must have missed something. Where is this complaint from PB&F? Is it
something recent? I can only recall two times that Bolger addressed this
issue in print. On this site years ago, and once elsewhere. Both seemed
to me to be statements of position as opposed to complaints. I'd have to
go back in the archives to find it, but if I recall correctly Bolger
basically said let's let the issue die.
On the other hand, this board has many complaints from CSD customers.
Yet I know of two boats built from CSD plans where the builders received
support from PB&F at no fee and no complaint from Bolger. Some of that
Yankee integrity if you ask me.
Mr. Bolger continues to do business they way he has for many decades. He
is very approachable on his terms, which I learned nearly twenty years
ago are by FAX or US Mail. Send him your wish list and he'll write, FAX
or call you with possibilities. Choose the one that seems right for you
and send a check, you'll receive beautiful plans within a few days that
include full building support. No need for a website, no need for a
catalog. It's a system that has worked very well for me, and many, many
boatbuilders, and I assume for Bolger as well. What's the saying, if it
ain't broke, don't fix it?
