Cheers from Saskatchewan - where we are basking in near zero weather.
Any warmer and my igloo might start dripping.

Well folks,
First let me wish all of you a great Holiday Season.
My wish for you for 2004 is that you "finish the #$*^
boat." ;~)
Finished the sail yesterday. Christmas day here, but
the rugrats invaded and I had to put up the tools or
take a chance on killing a couple of them. While I
wanted to continue and there are so many kids here
that I'm sure a couple of them wouldn't be missed I
chose discretion. Didn't want to tick off the
neighbors. They might call the Wokwok (wich doctor)
and put a hex on Sea-Angel. Can't have that can we.
Today is a boatbuilding day for me. Dec. 26th and
with a lot of luck I may finish up except for the
touchup painting. Talked to dave via email and have
decided to try the sprit rig instead of the gaff.
Should be a lot simpler and easier to rig. I'll post
pix in the Bolger 3 Photo section when I have
something of interest.
Of course, before we launch for the first time we will
have to have a "blessing" for the boat. That consists
of killing a duck or chicken and painting little
crosses on the hull in blood while appealing to the
boating Gods for the safety of all those who sail in
her. "Blood sacrificed???" you ask. Yes! serously.
Edna insists on it or she probably won't sail with me.
That woulld be a disaster. Who would pour the tuba
while I deftly manouver my little craft?? (Tuba is
Coconut wine) Any way while it's not so good for the
duck it's fine with me cuz I get to eat it later.
Now I have to go to the bank in Tagbilaran and buy a
couple of paddles and we're all set.
Happy sailing and Mabuhay from the Philippines, where
on the coldest day you have to use a fan. So I bid a
fond farewell to all of you in the frigid north and
all I can say is "wish you were here".
Steve.
