Micro plus an Extra 100 Kg's
After all the discussion re Micro handling in heavy weather a local
Bolgerphile (Paul Connor) contacted me and asked if he could sail in
Time Out because he has a set of plans and is thinking of building.
Anyway Paul is 6'4" and about 100Kg's so it was a good opportunity to
test the effect of extra weight on the boat. Wind conditions were
ideal (about 10 to 15 knots) and his 100Kgs made considerable
difference and she seemed less tender to me. He was impressed enough
with the handling and layout of the boat to say that he will start to
build a Micro as a long term project. Perhaps a fleet of Micros on
Sydney Harbour?
