A faxed inquiry on a design with a request for info and cartoon will
usually result in a same day return fax. Mail servie is also prompt
and efficient and you'll be the proud owner of a handwritten note from
Phil suitable for framing.
An excellent start, if you flailing about between a dozen designs is
to seand off a letter to PB&F (the friends being his wife, Susan
Atenburger and a few dozen cats.) describing what you want your boat
to do, where you want it done, and how you plan to get it there, and
ask for his suggestions. Mention your building experience too.
