[bolger] Re: Need archive of Bolger messages
My vote is for putting the messages into the vault,
at least for a week or two.

Richard Spelling has helped me solve this problem. He has saved all
the eGroupBolger messages from inception in Netscape Messenger format.
He transferred the file to me and I was able to import it into my copy
of Microsoft Outlook. So, now I have all the groups messages in one
easy-to-read format. I have the messages in a file format Microsoft
Outlook uses, namely,".pst".
Would it be useful to anyone else in the group if I uploaded this file
to the archive?

It should be fairly easy to create Adobe Acrobat pdf files and then
have an index to reference them.

Richard Spelling responded to my plight and says he has all the
Bolger eGroup messages from inception stored in his Netscape
Communicator e-mail program.
Does any user of Netscape know how Richard could export his Bolger
messages into a file that I might import into Microsoft Outlook?
Such a file might be an excellent resource to store in the Bolger
eGroup vault. We could store the messages in different files, readable
by Netscape, Outlook, and perhaps other e-mail programs out there.
I do realize the Bolger eGroup messages are all still posted on the
Web. It is just very tedious to read them one at a time on the Web,
and I am not smart enough to figure out how to move them into Outlook
automatically. Also, I am sure, eventually, old Bolger eGroup messages
will get "dumped" from the eGroup Web site. It would be nice for all
of us, not just me, to have these messages archived somewhere. It
could be a bonanza of information for anyone joining our group in
future.
Anybody know how to do it?

After carefully saving all the Bolger eGroup messages since the group
was started, I accidentally erased them last night. I am heartbroken,
because I had accumulated a wealth of information.
Can anyone help me restore all these messages?
I am hoping someone else has been saving all the Bolger eGroup messages
into a folder on their own copy of Microsoft Outlook. It would be
pretty simple for that person to export those messages from Outlook
into a file (a *.pst file, I think), then transfer them to me somehow.
Such an archive of old messages would be a wonderful resource to post
in the group's "vault."
I realize right now the old messages are still posted on the eGroups
Web site, but I'm sure they wont be there foreever. I don't know how
to easily import the old messages on the eGroup site into my Outlook
folder.
Perhaps I am looking at this all wrong. Is there some other easy way
to archive all the Bolger messages for my personal use in the future?
