Ahh Steve, were it that simple!

We had our first frost free, fog free, cloud free
sunrise of the year
this morning and now, 9 1/2 hours later, it's still
clear blue skies
with more than an hour of sunshine left to the day!
The boatbuilding
season will soon be here...

You are where you are because you choose to be there!

If your days are 20 or more hours of darkness (or for
that matter daylight) you are too far north or south.
Quit complaining and get your butt closer to the
equator!! Hey look! Even the rain here is warm.
Move closer to the fire, zip your jacket a bit
tighter, take another swallow of your hot chocolate
and close your eyes and immagine this:

"year round sailing".

Need I say more? I have friends in California who
say: "How can you live in a third world country?"

Well, Cheap stuff is everywhere and "year round
sailing."

I know what cold is. I was born in England and I
also spent two winters in Great Falls Montana. I have
seen -25F without figuring the wind chill. I have
seen summers that were considered good because there
were 3 or 4 days when the sun came out for a little
while in the late afternoon between rain squalls.

Just move a little closer to the middle of the planet.
Days are warmer, your surroundings are greener, and
"year round sailing".

I suppose there is an appeal to sitting around the
fireplace with a warm sweater or jacket drinkig hot
coffee spiked with a bit of rhum but for me, lying on
the beach in the middle of winter with a cute Filipina
rubbing 15 grade sun blocker on my back is infinitly
more appealing. YES!! Move closer to the equator
and youre boat buiding/sailing weather will improve
dramatically.

Quit complaining and move! ;~D

I think I'll take the boat out today.
Steve.

PS. Hope I didn't offend anyone.
