Houseboat #481 Winter boat work

In the past few weeks I have been working on the furniture for the
houseboat (Shanty) Using baltic birch which looks great, is very
strong (at least 8 layers in the 1/2")and easy to work with. I put
a piece in the dish washer for a few months and it came out the same
as it went in after about 30 cycles. With my brothers' able
assistance we have built the counter and sink assembly, and will be
working on the dinette this week. I had made the bed beforehand so
with a may 1 start on the remaining work on the cabin and exterior,
I am expecting a May 31 launch. (Woohoo break out th Maudite) This
weekend I purchased the sink and the pump tap combo as well as the
marine toilet which is the jabsco compact. I expect to build the
waste holding tank triangular so the toilet can sit on it in the
corner of the bathroom. Water will be pumped thru hull for the
toilet as well as the galley sink. As I have not drilled any holes
in the hull yet, any sage advice is welcome because it seems like a
very unnatural act to drill a hole in ones boat.

It is comforting to be productive in the workshop warmed by the wood
stove and see the landscape as a huge block of ice and snow at -30 C
as my Bolger Boat is hibernating in the cold cold barn. Its ok,
every once and a while I will take a hot drink over and go for a
mini cruise

Happy cruising bolgerados. Being this close to having a Bolger boat
one could live on is almost too much to bear. Paul McLellan who is
presently drawing up in his head a schematic of all the electricals
and mechanicals in his head and has already launched
