Re: Navigator

I do not think the aussie navigator I mentioned is the same person as
the original person who consulted Bolger. His web site still exists,
but unchanged since he passed on-

http://members.fortunecity.com/booraleaboats/

Don't think the aussie circumnavigation ever happened. He would never
have made it in my opinion anyway without a lot of luck; the house
would have been wiped out in the roaring 40's.

I do have a letter from Bolger about mast wall thickness and some
other rigging detail, but probably nothing new to you now.

The drawing you talk about is in the archives somewhere of the Yahoo
Small Boats group. You may have to contact the moderator of the
group, (Don someone) to get it. The group was "unusual", and unusual
things happened from time to time in that group, such as archives
being confiscated for bad members behavior. Good luck! I'm no longer
a member.

The trouble with putting your email in this group is it accept
attachments to send to you. And your email address only half shows so
I cannot send an independent mail, which is why I asked you to email
me direct.

However, I will be putting my Navigator site online later today, so
please have a look at some of my detail there, and fire any questions
to me. But it looks to me as you have it all well under control.

Great, I wonder if the late builder you is the person
that first comissioned Micro Navigator from Bolger?

Bolger wrote that Micro Navigator was intended to
circumnavigate Australia, was that circumnavigation
ever done?

http://hallman.org/bolger/halyard.gif

Do you have any letters or correspondence from Phil
Bolger to share? Also, I welcome any advice you might
have, as there is no need to learn any lessons the
hard way needlessly!

I recall seeing a line drawing of a Micro Navigator on
the internet about two years ago, a "3-D" isometric
drawing, which has since seemed to disappear from the
internet, have you seen that drawing?

Hi Bruce,
yes, I have been watching your progress with interest. There is
another Navigator in Australia, but the builder died a couple of
years ago. Two guys took it over, and we emailed a couple of times,
but then they seemed to disappear.
I have just finished building a web-site for my Micro and navigator,
with progress photos, which will be topped up with sailing pics after
I launch, in a few months. But if you want, I can email you some
reduced pics showing more detail on the Navigator.
I cannot seem to find complete email addresses from this place, so if
you like to email me direct, I can send you attachments.

Hey Don, poking around in your photo's
album I noticed the photo [from a month
back] of your Chinese Gaff rig on Oink.

How is this going? Have you sailed it
yet? Care to comment on the rig?
Have any tips or advice?

Are you and I the only two people in
the world building Micro Navigators? <grin>

Hi Don,
Gee.....it's really hard to tell just what I'm looking
at......looks almost like a portable satalite dish or other type of
portable tracking device more then a boat:-).....have you got a side
view of this folded"thing"?

Peter Lenihan
I would appreciate a web address for access your picture. Thank you. boblynn
I came across this in Auckland on sunday, an extreme machine, which
could give ideas for a folder, different from the Bolger norm.
It is brand new, but no-one there to ask about it. Looked about 20x20!
I will remove it after a few days, but I thought it was Bolgerlike in
it's audacity.
Go to Photos/Micro to Navigator(2nd page), photo Extreme.
