re: wood mast advantage

Tapered wood masts are much lighter where it counts: near the top. Even
for a small boat this difference is pretty noticable when you're
handling it. I can imagine two inebriated teenagers tempted to
swordfight with wooden Brick masts. Hmmm, maybe that's a disadvantage.
Fortunately, we only have the one mast here.
