Actually, that's not correct. From an engineering standpoint, if you're
dealing with a "core" and two strong sheet of epoxy-glass, then swiss
cheesiness isn't much of an issue. The outer skins are what matter most
in core-construction, and as long as the corre keeps from collapsing,
voids aren't too much of a problem.

However, Bolger's Micro is not "core construction" but rather plywood
construction, with an optional glass/epoxy coating (highly recommended).
Here, the voids matter.


I'm in the midst of building two boats, one a little Michalak skiff out of
5mm lauan, and a 22 power skiff that is basically a scaled-up Bolger Teal,
with an outboard in a well in the back. That's 1/2" MDO, and it's a great
plywood to work with.
