Which worked back then, and has quit
working now. Google Inc., now fat,
happy, and no longer working...

A footnote on this archive-searching technique: out of curiosity, I
plugged in "Garth" as I sign most of my posts here, using the above
format, and only got 6 hits. I know I've posted dozens if not a
hundred or more messages here. I tried plugging in my Yahoo
username "GarthAB" -- only 5 hits. And they were randomly spaced out
over time -- some in the 4000s, some much more recent. So maybe this
Google thing isn't comprehensive?

All best,
Garth
I couldn't resist trying. It only took paging back through five or
six of Yahoo's incredibly annoying mini-archive bunches.

Here, from Bruce Hallman, in Message #33594, is the answer:
>>>

Skip the Yahoo search and use Google!

If you were searching for the term:

'pcb@s*'

...which happens to be Phil Bolger's
email address you would use the search
phrase:

pcb@s* bolger site:groups.yahoo.com

...or searching for 'chebacco' would use:

chebacco bolger site:groups.yahoo.com

see:

...which returns all 84 of the PCB/PB&F
posts to this group. Cool huh?

Yes, the Search function is now ridiculously curtailed. Here we have
30,000 messages and can only seach a hundred or so at a time. It's
useless.

But someone recently (Bruce Hallman?) posted an elegant solution
using Google to search the whole archive. And damn, I wish I had
printed it out or saved it. The search parameters went something
like: yahoo groups bolger _____ fill in your search terms. I know I'm
not getting it quite right. I'd do a search of our Yahoo archive to
find the post -- but that might take half an hour!

I'm sure the answer will get posted soon.

All best,
Garth
Did something happened to the search feature on yahoo groups ? It is
practically useless for me now (unless I'm doing something wrong). It
only searches a few weeks back! And you have to keep paging two
weeks at a time. It's very dissapointing as there is a wealth of
great information buried in the archives.
