Re: strongback

What about using a flat floor for a strongback? I've built a boat which
had a straight sheer and this helped to line things up, and I think it
ought to be just fine for something like Brick. On a swoopier boat I
should think a little examination of the lines and offsets could provide
dimensions for extending the sides with some clamped or screwed on
sticks so that when the boat is in the prescribed shape all the sticks
would be in the same plane. Might take some trig or something.
Alternatively, one could design a boat so that the rail is straight but
other features might be added on top later, not too different from
Thomaston Galley. Is this too silly?
