I've just copied your message to the proa list. I suppose I should
have asked first, sorry. We were just complaining about yahoo's
awful archive structure (and about the photo size reductions).

Heck, Bruce, you may have to categorize it as a Maudite/MDO database, with a
Bolger subtheme. Might have sponsorship (or sponsorboat) possibilities.....

I just wanted to say thanks for putting this script
together. Sure is nice to have all messages local.
I'm a programmer by trade (mostly Java technologies).
I had no idea that you could use vbscript for this
type of task. So, thanks for opening my eyes to
another utility language.

the excessively long 'quoted text' that is
appended to the bottom of too many messages.
This is a AT YOUR OWN RISK experimental
and educational program for research purposes
only, but I have tested it on three flavors
of Windows so far, and it works.
Put this GrabMessages.vbs program
in a text editor like 'notepad.exe'
and set the name of the folder to
use. [also the High/Low numbers of
the messages to grab.]
Save it to your desktop, and then
double click to run it. Grab a cup
of coffee as it takes several
minutes to grab 1000 messages.
Windows chokes on 35,000 files in one
folder, so grabbing about a thousand
files at a time in different folders
is necessary. All the messages total
about 80 MB in size! Some of us are
long winded.
My coding is crude, 'cause I don't
know any better. Criticism solicited.
Is there a programmer around here that
can clean up this code, and maybe help
with the user interface?
