[bolger] Rainbow Skimmer
Has anyone seen plans for the cat rigged scow, the Rainbow Skimmer?
Even as a teenager I took pencil and paper down to the lake to write
down the dimensions to compare to other boats I saw. Memory has it -
14' x ~3.5', a little flair, ~14" (?) solid mahogany sides, .25 inch
plywood topsides and bottom, 1 x 4 keelson (we kept kicking it),
daggerboard, 3-stay cat rig. Bottom was flat with enough rocker, deck
was cambered, the section of a cylinder fore to aft, with a ~24" x30"
footwell, seemed about 18" max depth of hull. The nice sheer was where
the sweep of the slightly flared side met the cylindrical section
topsides. Did a search on the Internet and found the only mention was
that they were raced on Lake Arrowhead, California many decades ago.
Has Bolger designed anything like this? If so, pictures anyone?
