SPAR varnish, of course !!
Seriously, SPAR for those areas that will probably not be 'handled' much
. . . it does stay on the soft side. Good for the mast . . . IF you are
going to use a track or something 'modern'.
If using Hoops, or Lacing the sails on, or if handled, look at the
'short oil' varnishes with UV additives. These cure 'hard'.
For anything that is going to have an 'active' life, I'd want AT LEAST 6
coats.

Hi I am ready to apply varnish to my mast (Bobcat) and to the boom
and gaff as well : what kind of varnish do you recommand and how many
layers should I use ( the mast and spar have been made out of spruce)
