[bolger] Fldg Schnr Epoxy

Another nice day here and so I put on another coat of epoxy on the
bottom of the forward hull. I set up a foam roller but found the
plastic squeegies the most handy tool. I pushed it in until you
couldn't feel the cloth but the weave would reappear as the project
dried. It will take at least one more coat to fill the weave.
Contemplating putting a little of the Silica Filler in the next batch
to thicken it a bit and perhaps make the fill a little faster?

I had one batch of epoxy that didn't look right after I mixed it for 3
minutes and I just put it aside and made another batch. I will be
interested to see if it was okay. I was mixing in graduated barium
containers and mixing 10 oz at a time by pouring 5oz of resin and 5oz
of hardener. Figured I might have looked at the wrong mark or
something. All the other batches turned a similar color and consistency
after mixing. I did the mixing and pouring outside and that helped to
make the process more pleasant and gave a break from the epoxy smell
cominmg off the big flat bottom. Kept two fans going as well. I also
used a rag with vinegar to clean up spills and the outside of the cans
and wax paper to put the tools down on. Tried to work as clean as
possible. Looking foward to getting back to boat carpentry.
