PB&F reply quickly to snail mail too!
If you find out the price let us know too.
The most recent issue of "Woodenboat" contains an article by a Birdwatcher owner and a brief write up of a Birdwatcher II by PB & Friends. The new version has a larger sail plan, a metal cb which is larger and now pivots at the forward bulkhead, a revised rudder and steering layout, a self draining compartment in the forward deck for anchor/rode, and a "patent" stern/extended rear windows to shroud a motor mounted to the side of the hull. These mods are estimated to increase hull weight by 200 lbs.
I think the self draining compartments and, perhaps the new steering layout are worthwhile, but I prefer the light weight and simplicity of Birdwatcher I. It is probably worthwhile to buy the magazine, read the article, and draw your own conclusions.

Had been looking for a family boat that would be "just so"---the
Birdwatcher article in the latest WoodenBoat settled it for me.
