from the one's that I have. In mine the bow folds at a more acute
angle than the stern. Without getting them out, I recollect that the
bulkheads in the aft section are square, and the angle is imparted by
the hinge. The forward section has offset bulkheads.
The galley is at least as "cookable" as our city apartment kitchen!

Sue Davis stopped with her newest addition to the I 60 plans. It's
looking very do-able and cool.
The bow and stern sections pivot and fold asymetrically, the fold
bulheads do not run straight across the beam as most bulkheads do,
but rather at about a 8 degree angle off true, and the stern fold the
mirror angle. This to let the tips clear and overlap.
Midships: The outboard is in a centreline well with hard cover, that
you walk over to enter the cabin. The head is to starboard of the
O/B. In the main cabin the galleys is long and can easily cook up a
storm for the biggish, raveanous crew. To port of the C/B trunk is a
tightish owner's "stateroon" with even more cozy double berth.
Perfect for those cool evenings. Forward of the C/B is the dinette,
twin berths.
Bow: basically empty space, to keep it light for folding I guess.
Stern: the same, but add the tiller gear.
Sue is looking for a place to build and I offered her the Rust Check
lot, 2.5 hours from Toronto, but she was thinking of a freind's farm
in the Catskills for Pete's sake (4-5 hours, plus bridge and custom's
delays. If she takes me up, there'll be lots of building pics.
At that range even Peter Lenihan might drive down from Montreal for
an cool Cooper's ale over the poop deck.

Just that the dories reputation for seaworthiness was gained from the Banks dories. With 1/2 a ton of fish loaded on board they gained a lot of stability, whereas unloaded they were not as stable or as seaworthy as you might imagine.

I've seen the I60 sail plan sketch posted somewhere but i know
nothing about it's origin. David, are you the one that put bolger to

What is the boat's intended purpose?
That's one big sharpie birdwatcher, schooner thingy, looks good.
Hope you fire up a web page for the construction process.

As far as the Insolent 60 being a big project, it is. But it's not as
big as the length of the boat might suggest.
Buelher's 43 foot schooner ARCHIMEDES has a displacement of 21 tons.
From that one might infer that his 64 foot schooner DRAGONFLY has a
displacement of around 30 or 40 tons.
By contrast, the I60 should have a displacement of about 5-6 tons.
Having studied the preliminary drawings, I think the build will be
akin to making an AS-29 and a couple of LIGHT SCOONERS. Not a trivial
amount of work, but not quite the monumental project that a
traditional 60 footer would entail.
