Re: [bolger] Re: more navigator pictures.....

Correction! Heverton is NOT the company name. It's the name of one of the
managers, Howard Everton.

Stick to ebay, I guess. There's such a gentleman at Nova Plastics, but
their web site doesn't show their surplus sales.

Keep checking ebay. I got some sheets of Lexan for $26 ea, 2' x 4', one is
3/16", one is 1/4" from an outfit called Heverton. These are "cut-offs from
some manufacturing process and apparently recur fairly often.

Not tinted, but there is stick-on plastic if you want privacy/dimness.

Ditto, I bought scrap polycarbonate cut-offs
for use on my Micro Navigator, for about $60
for a lot. Much less $$$ than retail.

The only trouble was that the 'peel off' on
one of the sheets was sun damaged and
wouldn't actually peel off. After an hour of
tedious work with a hair dryer, I got it off.

Bruce-
in the photos you can see the port aft chamber is in. The starboard
rear compartment has been ditched in favor of a secured foam block
to be painted and wedged in outboard of the mizzen
mast/boomkin.....it was'nt worth the trouble because of the mizzen
step and boomkin step/slot. I've been stalling on the bow chambers
because i don't know what bolger is scemeing with the
tabernacle.....he told me to wait incase there was a change. The
three chambers will all have beckson 8" screw in plates....i've
already installed one in the rear port chamber......i could'nt bear
the thought of an enclosed place i could'nt see in.

I've got the pilot house temp screwed in place but just can't get it
right.....i know i'm going to screw this up, it's going to turn out
like an appalachian outhouse....already planing a crecent moon and
stars for the wash boards. mine came up slanted like yours....not
sure why. I have had to ditch the navigator sheet and just scramble
around with a tape measure and square. Hope to glue and screw it in
by the end of the weekend. I've managed to give myself 3" side
decks that should allow me to scramble around if need be.....easier
said than done with a size 14 foot.

Been looking for the tinted polycarbonate, lexan, perspex whatever
for the windows but can't find what i need at a reasonable price.
Arylic is so cheap put i know it will crack if i try and use it.

Looking good, Jason, the MDO plywood will be a smooth
underlay for the paint.

Are you planning on installing floatation chambers?
