Re: "Dolly T" catboat outside, photos in Bolger4 files

Very sweet indeed.

It's easy to see why they call it "Muddy" Creek. I guess the city
forgot to pay the water bill.
Don't think I have ever seen a sweeter set of lines than Bolgers
Harbinger, and your dad has done him proud Hugo.
For me the favourite view is 'movin out of workshop', drop dead
gorgeous, sexier curves than........

Thanks for that.

The hard chined blue boa t(Muddy Creek slipway photos) on the end is steel. I'm sorry but I don't know what design it is or who designed her. Most likely an Australian design. She apparently has an awful motion in any sort of a sea and makes all but the most iron-gutted sailor seasick so I've been told!!

I was looking through all those photos again and i keep staring at
the one called: Muddy Creek( Panatana Rivulet) Slipways and Boats.

Do you know what that hard chined blue boat with red antifouling on
the end is? Steel or ply?

Thanks,

Thanks for the compliments Peter, I'll pass them on to my father as he built the "Dolly T".

Yes ,we rarely get snow down on the coast during winter here in Northern Tasmania and if we do which may happen every 20 or so years it never settles, but my father being a perfectionist couldn't just have a flat roof on the 'temporary' shed. A bowed roof looks better, end of story!!!

Well.........that is certainly one finely rendered catboat! You are
obviously very proud of her, judging from the pictures, and you have
every right to be so! I am rather at a lose for words and refuse to
add pithy superlatives when even they will not do justice to the
blatant craftmanship evidenced in those fine photos! Bravo!Bravo! and
Bravo some more! Regret not being closer to share a good load of
liquid cheer with you and your Dad to toast her!

Now,about that boat shed..........a no snow climate is a wonderful
thing so why the fancy arches over the roof beams? :-)

Sincerely,

Peter Lenihan,truly impressed...........

Hi everyone,

We finally pulled "Dolly T" (Harbinger design)15' x7' 1" Catboat
out of the workshop this weekend. I've posted some photos in the
files section of Bolger4 Photos group in the folder
called "Tyson's 'Temporary' Boatshed" She will finally be launched
next weekend if the weather's fine with enough wind but not too much
for a first sail.

She's called "Dolly-T" for a few reasons, After a little Tortoise
shell cat we had years ago and in honour of a famous pre WW1 racing
catboat "Dolly" and the East Coast American tradition of naming
boats eg. like "Bunny R" etc.

Hugo Tyson, in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, hoping that the
weather will fine up soon!

Wow Hugo!

You are obviously not a fan of my favorite "work boat finish". Very
nice. She'll be a real head turner. Looks like she'll scoon right
along too.

Load her with crates and dishes and sail it to Kingston for September
will you? I'll stand you a glass of my best "Amine Blush" Blend, if
Peter L. leaves us any.

WOW! What a beautiful boat! Great lines, and you did a magnificent
job on her finish. Congratulations on an outstanding effort. If she
sails half as good as she looks, she'll be an extraordinary boat.
