Re: Vince's Dakota
I think some of the info there is out of date. I know rules in GA
have changed. Try this Trailer Boat Magazine link for 2005 info.
You can also get vehicle tow ratings from their data base.

Vince,
Great looking boat. Keep the pictures coming if you can. Does the boat
meet the length towing limits in all states? I have tried to do some
investigation into the state towing laws for myself, but seem to keep
coming up with conflicting answers as to what is allowed without
special permits.

Wonderful, Vince.
I am *so* envious, but in the nicest way. I hope you and Mary Ann have
decades of great cruises on her.

I am curious about the specific details of that trailer.
How did you size the parts, where did you buy the parts,
what tips and tricks did you learn building it.
Also, you have one heck of a workshop!

Can't wait to see her all decked out for what is going to be one
helluva launch....you are going to have a party, aren't you? Start
sending out invites so folks can block off their agendas accordingly!
Continued success Vince with all the finishing touches and look

Well now, ain't that some of the best news around! A Spring
launch! I am many shades of Jealousy Green right now and look
forward to seeing the latest photos of her! You wouldn't happen to
be contemplating a nice long "down-stream" cruise next summer eh? If
so,I know a really neat little spot to over-night,just above the
locks at St.Catherine, along the St.Lawrence Seaway, with lots of
boats to fill the vista and marmottes to entertain :-)
All the best!!
Sincerely,

later pester him with lots of crazy, but serious,questions.......

Thanks, Vince,
I found those after I'd posted. Funny thing, when I try to go to
photos, I get a complaint:
Error
GROUP_CHECK
gpg14.bc.scd.yahoo.com:GROUP_CHECK
I've tried it many times today, thinking it might be a computer
glitch, but now I believe it might be a Yahoo prob.
I'm glad to hear you're nearing the finish. I am anxious to see launch
pohotos. Wish you didn't live so far from me :-)
Cheers/Fader

Hi Bolger builders. The older pics are still in the "Files" section
under "Dakota" and others are in the "photos" section under "Vince's
Dakota". I will get some more recent pictures posted soon.
The Dakota is pretty near complete. It is now on a custom built
trailer. I have a 3/4 ton Chevy Avalanche to tow with. I have yet to
buy the outboard motor, but the controls and steering are in. The
boating season is nearly over here in northern Michigan, so I plan
to wait til spring for the first launch.

get his Champlain MUDLARK's interior looking "just right" so perhaps

At any rate,Vince has been doing a first class job and I do look

I hope I'm not stealing anyone's thunder, especially Vince's, but I
was just surfing through the photo albums of this groups photo
section and his Dakota is really coming along beautifully.
Several brand new pics, just posted today, according to my computer
and the "properties" feature.
Exterior painted a deep royal blue with white trim. Interior coming
along great. Looks ready to move in, almost.
There's in an album titled "Vince's Dakota".
I think we're in for a Dakota launch announcement soon.
Super work Vince.
