Re: Whalewatcher ?
I believe there is one still under construction at:
http://www.birdingbyboat.org/osp.htm
Maybe you can email him and ask how it's going. I think he was
looking for volunteers to help fininsh it at one point.

Nope. Sorta surpises me, as the first person to finish one would
likely get a standing invitation to bring it to Gloucester for a
visit. PB&F are very eager to see how it turns out.

Far as I know the uncompleted boat is still lurking around Richmond. I
believe the guy who owns it wants to finish it.
There was also a fellow named Tim (something) who was building one with a
junk rig for taking kids on eco-expeditions. I think Tim was in California.

William D. Jochems is a slot top cruiser about halfway between
a Whalewatcher.and a Birdwatcher. Schooner sail rig though.
Hi folks..New subscriber here..Wondering if anyone ever put together
Bolger's "Whalewatcher" design and how it worked out ? I know there
was a prototype built years ago and I remember seeing it advertised
for sail in MAIB at one point as the prototype's builder passed away
before it was completed.
With the recent discussion and Woodenboat article on Birdwatcher; it
got me thinking about that larger but similar design...
Any out there ?
BTW..love the activity on the group site..I'll be mired in the
archives for quite a while !
Thanks..
