Re: 'June Bug' stuff - sheet goods
If there needs to be a delay, make the mast, boom, oars, etc. They don't
take up much room or much material. And if you change your mind you can
use the same rig on a bunch of other boats also designed for it.

You can build Gav Atkin's 8' Mouse with 1 1/2 sheets lauan underlay,
some scrap lumber pieces, Pl Premium and drywall tape for about the
price of 2 sheets of this 1/4" stuff. Get some Walmart paint, throw
together a paddle (say $10.00) and hit the water. You'll have
something fun to use, developed some excellent building skills, have
a hands-on understanding of taped boats and get lots of positive
comments from other boaters. Takes about 12-24 hrs to build, basic
skills only required and easy to store.

Hey, 'dog . . .
A couple of points -
1}All the 'stuff' you have collected has a VERY LONG 'shelf life' -
especially if stored in a cool place, away from direct sunlight.
2}Even with the soaring prices of sheet goods, $36.oo seems a bit steep
for ordinary 1/4 ACX. At that price I would investigate MDO {Single
side}. This would be a better, more uniform material - at the same, or
less, cost per sheet.
3} Since you are 'in' for almost $300 already - don't waste what you've
already invested. 'Worse Case Scenario' is to wait {and dream, make
sketches, practice your building technique with small samples, etc}
while you save a bit more cash for the 'proper' hull material.
