Hi Gregg,

is it possible to configure the groups to allow non-members
read access to the files and pics? It is nice to be able
to send someone a link to a photo without requiring them
to join the group (which people are often wary of).

Thanks, and another option:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bolger_rants/

For Bolger group ranting and blowing off of steam.
You may read any group without joining, but you must be a member to
post messages or view/post pics or files. Join any group by sending
an email to:

bolger-subscribe@yahoogroups.com'discussion and pics/files
bolger2-subscribe@yahoogroups.com'pics and files
bolger3-subscribe@yahoogroups.com'pics and files
bolger4-subscribe@yahoogroups.com'pics and files
bolger4Sale-subscribe@yahoogroups.com'sell anything (can sell boats
on #1)
bolger_coffee_lounge-subscribe@yahoogroups.com'off-topic discussion

You may quit any group by sending an email, for example:

bolger4-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com

You may go to any group's homepage and select your type of
distribution: messages, daily digest, or none (i.e. web). You may
want to adjust this on the other groups (2, 3, 4, etc.), though there
is very little email traffic on those groups. If you reply to daily
digests, please trim off the excess.

In general, please limit your pics to about 100 Kb. Google Thumbsplus
, which is good at resizing pics or simply improving their size by
opening and resaving (scanners and cameras don't always do good JPG
compression). Please organize your pics by folder.

Other than that, please just stay on topic (just about anything
"boats/nautical"). Ignore spam and let me bounce it. If you have a
personal note for someone that wouldn't be of general interest, please
send that off-group (i.e. direct). But, I'm preaching to the choir -
this is a great group of sailors!

Thanks,
Gregg/Moderator

There is a limit on the number of megabytes allowed by Yahoo for each
Group, so we have to keep adding Groups. It takes about 30secs to join
each Group. Search for Bolger under Groups Home (I think).
