I presume you mean a self etching primer for aluminum, not an aluminum
bearing primer.

I have used self etching primer. It works very well.

1. Anyone have any experiece with self eching aluminum primer? I've
got a big A%& aluminum pipe for a mast on my wooden boat and i can't
stomach the silver. I'd like to paint it but don't really want to
kill the grass, dog or myself bathing the spar in acid before
priming, thus the 2 for one etching primers.

2. Having just said i dislike my silver mast i was wondering where
this "aluminum" paint comes from i've seen pictures of 2 boats that
looked silver.....almost metalic. What is that stuff?
