[bolger] Re: RE:Epoxy Regarding MDO Plywood

I'm away from the label right now, I'll look tomorrow... I buy it from a
small (non-chain) chandlery here in Panama City, FL. He doesn't stock much,
but always orders it in just a couple of days. This is not power-shopping
territory, and it's nice to see the local store underpricing West Marine
once in a while. It's about $46 per gallon including our 7.35% sales tax.

Thanks,

John, I don't want to start a flame war, but I have used about every brand
and grade of retail epoxy, and I find they are all much stronger than wood,
so I just buy the lowest price (Clear Cote 4 to 1 this year). My
sensitivity is probably average (it burns my nose when I snort some - I
wouldn't want to have to deal with it continuously, and I'm diligent about
wearing gloves and sleeves). I have used everything from white corn meal to
the WEST products for thickeners. I like talc for gluing and almost
anything at hand for filetting.

I guess I'm saying I can't find the value in all the nuances of cure rates,
blushing, and so on. I do enjoy using the WEST additives when trying to
blend a repair into a nice gel coat; for my ply-hacking it isn't worth it.

Am I fat and dumb, or just happy?
