post the 'html' file you made (as a start) to the Files
section of this Yahoo group. Keeping it maintained
would need a dedicated volunteer, or perhaps more than
one.
A fourth way would be for people to get in the habit of
posting links to photos of Bolger Boats on the Web,
in the Bolger Boats on the Web folder of the Links
section of the Bolger Yahoo Group. You could post
links to photos in the respective photo sections here.
A fifth way, would be for you to create a new Bolger
group, called 'Bolger Boats" which you would be the
moderator, and you could do things your way!
Bruce,
You are not far off. Alisa is a good boat for the right Bolgerista,
though there is still plenty of work to do on her. Also, I suspect
you could get more that $500 for 2000 lb of pure lead.
After reading the latest MAIB, I now have found my next boat. I've
been toying with all kinds of different designs including Micro,
Martha Jane and topaz, but now I'm itching to build Birdwatcher II.
I've got the area already staked out in the basement and I want to
start building this winter. Someone make me an offer :-)

By the way, I'll be bringing our AF3, Cream Cheese, to the Mid
Atlantic Small Craft Festival.
all of the yahoo pictures from boger1, 2,3 (there was no 4 at the
time) and making a website with a search engine and everything, using
some open source software called "Gallery." Since then Yahoo Groups
has prevented that sort of thing by limiting the number of photos you
can download per hour. There were 544 photos at the time. I bet we
have close to 1000 now.
There are two ways to do this:
1. Have Greg Carlson appoint a few more moderators, who will have
permissions to rearrange the folders
2. Host a photo gallery application on some other website. This would
require more "club like" behavior:
- we need to about $120 per year for a hosting company
(http://www.cleardev.com/special/gallery.php).
- we have to have a moderator to make sure spammers aren't posting
pictures and such.
- some sort of way to ensure that the site doesn't disappear in a few
years when the originators go cruising, finish building or otherwise
move on to other things

a high thrust 9.9 Yamaha OB, worth close to $2K,
and sails worth at least $1K. plus about $300 of anchors,
and some valuable electronics too. Heck, the lead ballast
could be sold for $500 as scrap.
So, the bare hull ends up costing darn close to $1,000, a steal.
After seeing the inside, I like the design, with a few reservations...

sure be nice. Also, I am spoiled somewhat with the light and

and I wonder if the windows in the cabin of AS-29 could
be doubled or tripled in size? And/or adding small Lexan
skylights in strategic places for lighting.

Yes, I agree, perhaps someone would volunteer to do that? (hint, hint)
Thank you for that link. After hearing so much about the AS-29, it
was nice to see one actually built and under sail. Awesome...
I'm just curious, how much does he want for her? Or I should say
what does he have her listed for?
Thanks again for he link....

PS....It would be nice to have all the photos on all four of the
bolger pages organized into easy to view files. As in, there would be
a list of all the boats bolger has designed and then link/pic under
each one. I imagine that was the idea when this group was started but
now there's so many pics of all different types of boats and all
different pics of bolger boats in different phase's of building/sailng.

Those of you who frequent the Duckworks classified's
probably already know this, but Frank Miguel is selling
the Advanced Sharpie AS-29 'Alysa' he bought from Herb
Tayler. Anyway, Frank has posted a bunch of inside
photographs of the AS-29, which are of interest to me
at least because so very few interior photos of an
AS-29 have been shown on the internet. See them

Davina--Bolger has designed a number of sharpies in the 20 foot range. Zephyr is one of his simplest. The Single Handed Schooner, Light Schooner (aka Scooner), Windsprint (a little shorter), Birdwatcher, Camper, and AS-19 are all sharpies in that general range. For an open, day sailing, sail boat which can be rowed, I think either Zephyr or Windsprint are your two best choices. Either plan is available from Payson or PB&F.

Subject: [bolger] Zepher news
Dear groupies;
I once built a Zepher sharpie from plans bought through "Dynamite"
Payson. I understand the plans were Bolger designed. (yikes the
postmark on the original envelope is December 1979, so I built it in
the spring of 1980)
The boat was a dream to sail, easy to row, and fun (MOSTLY) to make.
The boat was destroyed by hurricane many years ago, and I'm
considering building another. Anyone know of any upgrades, or new
information that I should know?
I haven't seen any mention of this particular craft here, is that
because of the "dynamite" payson sourcing? Has a better 21 foot
sharpie been designed?
Thanks guys;
Davina
