Take a small magnet along with you. Good-quality 18/8 stainless steel
is non-magnetic.

sheet metal factory. If you turn up with small notes and ask if you
can scrounge through the scrap bin you may get a pleasant suprise. I
just made all the fittings for 2 new landyachtsand still have lots
left over. . Even when I'm not building I drop in every few months
and have a scruonge.
If you really must pay for the stuff go to a scrap yard . they pay
50c a kilo and sell for$ 2.00 so a whole boat worth is going to cost
you10.00 at the most.
