Re: [bolger] Chebacco happenings

Roger,
I have to say your design appears more functional than mine, even if it took a bit longer. The good news is I think I've got a functional setup at the moment. Time will tell how if works. Anyway I'm impressed with your progress and envying that front end loader. . Looking forward to hearing more about the boat.

It turned out to be more dollars and hours than I figured, but maybe you're
more adept. Anyway, in view of your problems, I rigged my CB as shown in
http://derbyrm.mystarband.net/Dayawl.html(scroll down a ways). It took
one sheave, one 10" mast tang (cut in half), one carriage bolt/nut/lock
washer, and a couple of 3/4" x #10 pan head sheet metal screws (with the
points ground off). I inset the tang somewhat to keep the fasteners from
gouging the CB case and sealed the wood with epoxy before bolting the
hardware in place.

> Well, I got the boat off the trailer and onto blocks, repaired what little
damage had been caused by the centerboard block and replaced the block with
another model that doesn't have a swivel. Hopefully that will resolve
future problems of this nature. Got another coat of paint on the hull while
it was up las night as well. This morning back on the trailer and our
activities now cener on modifying the spars and rig before the St. Michaels
trip. Looking forward to seeing yas.
